1.  Give me a brief on training & after sales serives?

1. The Switchgear Training Centres at pune and Lucknow conduct customer oriented training programmes. The objective is to give maintenance professionals the 'hands-on' experience necessary to ensure a high level of performance.  Training programmes impart knowledge and upgrade maintenance skills to minimise downtime and costs.  Over 27,000 participants have been benefitted from these facilities.

L&T has set up over 80 Approved Service Centres to provide reliable and prompt service.  The Centres are managed by L&T's authorized stockists with hardware and software support provided by L&T.  In addition, service back-up is provided from L&T's switchgear engineers from 46 locations around India.

2.  What are the benefits of training, immediate & long term?

2. Hands-on training constitutes a major component of every program -  the techniques and solutions to overcome everyday problems in maintenance are of immediate relevance - they are practical, profitable and proven.

The program content contributes, in the long term, to minimise downtime losses through planned maintenance rather than break-down repairs.

The Training Centre also serves as a forum where practising maintenance professionals can exchange their experiences in handling and maintaining switchgear.  It therefore becomes a clearing house of information on maintenance practices, with each participant adding a personal perspective to a growing body of knowledge.

3.  Does your training benefit any specific segment?

3. The Training Centre offers programmes for specific user segments such as power plants, sugar processing units, textile mills, panel builders, service centre, consultants and many other fields.  These courses are tailored to overcome the typical practical problems faced by maintenance and operational personnel at various levels.

Separate programmes are organised for stockists and L&T personnel covering commercial aspects of business, salesmanship, etc.  Programmes for technicians lay greater emphasis on practical aspects of repairs and maintenance of switchgear products.  Special programmes of shorter durations are organised for professionals from a particular industry.

4.  What are the wide ranging aspects of training at your centres?

4. Emphasizing the unique feature of the training, we say "The training is given entirely on an independant (generic) basis - no brand names are mentioned, not even L&T.  It is like an engineer talking to engineers about wide-ranging aspects of low tension switchgear engineering."

It is only in the last session (held on the final day of programmes) - known as open forum - that L&T's name figures, because participants are encouraged to ask specific questions about L&T's switchgear - their experience, opinions as actual users.  The feedback which is very useful for product development and improved, is compiled and conveyed to our design engineers.
