L&T's Engineering & Construction Division achieved
a record order booking for the fiscal year 2002-03. The value of
new orders booked for the year amounted to Rs. 9400 crores - a growth
of more than 25% over the previous year. The Company's consistent
efforts in increasing its international business have resulted in
increase in export orders of E&C Division by more than 125% to Rs.
2120 crores.

The receipt of large turnkey orders from India
and abroad shows the confidence of the customers in L&T in the face
of international competition and also the progress L&T is making
in fulfilling its vision to become an Indian multinational. L&T
believes that the success in international business would help in
building the India brand abroad.
The overall order booking for the company has grown
by about 20% to Rs. 13,000 crores.
The Company sees good order booking prospects in the refinery, oil
& gas and infrastructure sector in the year ahead.
