Henning Holck-Larsen Felicitated in Denmark

Mr. Henning Holck-Larsen, L&T's Chairman Emeritus, was felicitated in the land of his birth, Denmark, for his lifetime contribution to the Indian industry and to Indo-European Union co-operation, on October 9, 2002 in Copenhagen.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee; the Danish Prime Minister and President of the European Union, Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen; delegates representing the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), leaders of the Danish industry and other dignitaries. Since Mr. Holck-Larsen (95) could not attend, the honour was received on his behalf by Mr. A. M. Naik, L&T's CEO & MD.

Mr. Vajpayee handed over to Mr. Naik a plaque bearing a citation, read out by Mr. Ashok Soota, President of CII. A commemorative salver was presented by Mr. Rasmussen as glimpses of Mr. Holck-Larsen's illustrious life were flashed on two big screens in the hall.

This felicitation marks one more major landmark in the life of Mr. Holck-Larsen - a living legend for the Indian industry in general and L&T-ites in particular.
