L&T's golden links with Denmark were burnished
again last week when Crown Prince Frederik of the Kingdom
of Denmark visited the Company's manufacturing complex at
Powai, Mumbai. L&T's CEO and Managing Director, Mr. A.M. Naik
escorted His Royal Highness around the Heavy Engineering Workshop
where high-tech equipment and systems for vital industries
are manufactured. The Crown Prince, accompanied by Denmark's
ambassador to India, Mr. Michael Sternberg, was joined by
a Danish business delegation, headed by Mr. Johan Schroder,
Chairman of the Confederation of Danish Industries.

Later, Prince Frederik called
on Mr. Henning Holck-Larsen, co-founder and Chairman Emeritus
of the Company at his residence in south Mumbai. It was a
meeting of true historical significance between the young
prince and the 95-year old Dane who has made an indelible
imprint in his adopted homeland - India. It may be recalled
that in October last year, Mr. Holck-Larsen was felicitated
by the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen
for his contribution to promoting international goodwill and
understanding.
