1. Depending upon the product supplied, relevant product manual shall be used as reference.
2. Perform following cold checks:-
a.

Check for physical damage of any part or component in the panel.Depending upon the extent of damage/critical component damaged the commissioning engineer can decide whether to Power ON the panel

b.

Check completeness of panel with respect to Drawing.

c.

The armour of the power cable should be grounded at the panel end .The control cables and ACdrive output cables should not be laid next to each other.

d.

Check that the input and output stage cabling is not interchanged.

e.

Ensure that the N terminal of the ACdrive is not connected to neutral of incoming supply.(N stands for the negative of dc supply)

f.

Ensure that the incoming voltage is within specified limits.High voltage at the input may be present due to long incoming cables(Ferrantieffect). This effect may be nullified by connecting a small load on this feeder at the drive end.

g.

Check for interconnection between Drive Panels external control cabling ,external choke and motor connections. They should be as per Drawing

h.

Check all bus-bars and links for tightness.

i.

Ensure that the Earth Bus-bar of the plant is connected to the Drive panel.Check continuity of the intercubical Earth stripe

j.

Ensure no momentary shortcircuiting between input and output stage takes place during changeover from ACdrive to DOL mode or vice-versa.

k.

The Power pack should not be meggered.

l.

Ensure the connections from IGBT to Gate-driver board are in place. This involves opening up of the AC drive, therefore, the connections need to be restored while closing the AC drive.

m.

Check the healthiness of the IGBT's as per following chart using a DMM:

U,V,W w.r.t. P bus & N bus w.r.t. U,V,W should show positive diode drop.

P bus w.r.t. U,V,W w.r.t. N bus should show open circuit

where
U,V,&W are ac drive power output terminals,
Pis dc bus positive terminal&
N is the dc bus negative terminal.

n.

Check motor specifications as per the test certificate and thatof the drive panel as per drawing to ensure correct motor usage.

o.

Check whether motor megger values are as per motor specifications.Motor power cables to be meggered with a 1.5KV megger. The value should be greater than 100 megaohms.

3.

Parameter settings shall be done based on relevant reference Manuals / drawings before starting the motor.
