Lantronix, emWare partner to deliver M2M
remote device management
Irvine, CA; Salt Lake City,
UT - Lantronix
and emWare Inc.
recently formed a partnership to cross-license software, hardware
and services, and create solutions allowing virtually any device
to be accessed, monitored and managed via the Internet. These solutions
will help Internet users manage remote devices and extract and analyze
real time data.
The two firms add that bringing
together their expertise also will help customers deploy complete,
end-to-end device management solutions in minimal time and with
no upfront infrastructure investment. Their agreement calls on Lantronix
and emWare to jointly develop, market and sell comprehensive device
management solutions based on Lantronix's device server technology
and emWare's DeviceView software and services. They report that
the combined Lantronix and emWare offering will deliver immediate
and long-range benefits to organizations with service operations
by providing an easy-to-install, cost-effective solution to access,
monitor and maintain equipment in remote locations. Their joint
device management solution will:
- Allow service technicians in a
central location to determine the status and operating conditions
of remote equipment located anywhere in the world;
- Predict failures
of remote equipment before they occur; and
- Reduce dispatch errors
by diagnosing exact problems, and determining replacement parts
requirements before dispatching a service technician.
'The world wide web was the Internet's
first killer application. The next key application will be connecting
and managing millions of non-computer devices through the Internet.
By working together we have made it easy to deploy M2M solutions
and have extended our offerings to include the service necessary
for a complete solution,' says Marc Nussbaum, Lantronix's president
and CEO. 'Partnering with emWare brings two very well respected
industry players together for the purpose of creating immediate
remote management total solutions.'
Michael Nelson, emWare's CEO,
adds that, 'Partnering with Lantronix continues emWare's strategy
to provide the most powerful enterprise M2M solutions for connecting
and managing remote machines and equipment. Now that companies are
beginning to realize the enormous amounts of money that can be saved
through service optimization, we are very pleased to be working
alongside Lantronix, which shares our vision of providing the most
solid and cost-effective M2M remote device management solutions
available today.'
