DPAC Technologies adds Ethernet to wireless
solutions
Garden Grove, CA - DPAC
Technologies has released AirborneDirect Ethernet, which is
the third product in its Airborne 802.11b wireless line. AirborneDirect
Ethernet is a plug-and-play Wi-Fi solution designed for OEMs, value-added
resellers (VARs), and systems integrators. Similar to the company’s
recently launched AirborneDirect Serial product, AirborneDirect
Ethernet also uses DPAC’s Airborne Wireless LAN node module that
further leverages the firm’s Airborne 802.11b 'wireless engine.'
DPAC will begin volume production of AirborneDirect Ethernet in
2Q 2004.
'AirborneDirect Ethernet enables
plug-and-play wireless LAN and Internet connectivity with equipment,
devices and instruments that have a 10BaseT Ethernet port,' says
Brett Trowbridge, DPAC’s VP. 'OEMs will now be able to instantly
offer customers wireless access to currently selling industrial
equipment or any installed base industrial equipment with an Ethernet
port. VARs and system integrators also will be able to offer the
same wireless access capabilities to their industrial customers.'
DPAC’s Airborne consists of 802.11b
wireless networking products that provide LAN and Internet connectivity
to instrumentation, process control, automotive, and medical, and
other industrial equipment. AirborneDirect Serial and Ethernet products
are 802.11b wireless LAN bridges designed to instantaneous, plug-and-play
wireless network access to equipment that has a serial or Ethernet
interface.
