Keithley agrees to distribute Elgar’s
power supplies in Asia
Cleveland, OH; San Diego, CA
- Keithley Instruments
Inc. has agreed with Elgar Electronics Corp. to sell, service,
and support Elgar’s programmable power supplies through Keithley's
sales and support offices in China, Taiwan and Japan. This alliance
enables Keithley to offer a more complete range of quality test
and measurement products and services.
The products will continue to
be sold under the Elgar and Sorensen brand names. Elgar will continue
to sell and support its products through its own sales channels
in North America, Europe and the rest of the Asia/Pacific region.
Elgar's products include ac power
sources, programmable dc power systems and loads, solar array simulators,
and integrated rack power subsystem services. Keithley products
include highly accurate instruments and data acquisition products
that measure low levels of voltage, resistance, current, capacitance,
and charge, along with complete system solutions for high volume
production and assembly testing.
'This agreement brings significant
benefits to both Keithley and Elgar,' says Linda Rae, Keithley’s
senior VP/GM. 'It allows our Asian customers to obtain a more complete
measurement solution from a single company, while at the same time
it improves Elgar's market presence in this fast-growing region
of the electronics marketplace.'
Keithley began building a presence
in Asia more than 40 years ago. Today, its employees operate throughout
Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and China. The company began expanding
its Chinese presence several years ago by adding staff and opening
offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
