Schneider introduces logic relay for simple
automation systems
Palatine, IL - Schneider
Electric recently released its Telemecanique Zelio logic relay,
which it reports is an innovative, cost-effective, smart relay with
advanced programmable relay functionality for small control system
applications. Zelio Logic is designed for applications that require
greater flexibility than a simple relay, but are too small or simple
to require using even the smallest nano PLC.
Zelio’s small size and ease of
programming provides a competitive alternative to traditional relays,
timers and counters. Modbus communications capability makes it easy
to integrate into automation systems, and a modem enables remote
control of applications. Able to accept and control outputs just
like a relay, logic on the Zelio relay is simple to set up by either
programming the front of the module or by using ZelioSoft software.
It also features dual language capability, using either function
block diagram or ladder logic programming.
Compared to hardwired logic solutions,
Zelio reportedly can save up to 70% in wiring and installation costs
and time. Mounting is simplified with either DIN-rail or panel-mounting.
Zelio logic relays are available with four or eight outputs, and
accept a wide range of input voltages. AC versions are available
with input voltages of 120 or 240 V ac, and dc versions are available
with input voltages of 24 V dc.
