Quality Control & Reliability is one of the prime functions in L & T - which constantly focuses on ensuring a consistency in product quality as well as its reliability, aimed at achieving total customer satisfaction. This is being done through well organized systems of quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) at all stages of product design, development, manufacturing, testing, packing and beyond. The systems are based on the universally acclaimed QMS standard ISO 9001:2000.

The systems are well supported with a self-sufficient infra-structure comprising conventional as well as sophisticated, customized test instruments with high level of accuracy & precision and well equipped QA laboratories which are accredited by NABL for their compliance to IS/ISO 17025:2005.

The systems, the test equipments and the laboratories are effectively managed by a highly competent and qualified work force consisting of Engineers & technicians through the regular use of improvement techniques & tools like 6 Sigma, Poka yoke and automation.

The efficiency and effectiveness of the quality function is continuously gauged, monitored and improved through parameters like Composite Product Sigma, response time to customers etc.
